A student's journey upon learning the art of karate is truly a personal one, deepening as the years go by...
|
Karate in its literal interpretation means "empty hand." A more broad definition could read: An Eastern Art of self-defense without the use of any weapons.
While self-defense (the punch, kick, and block) is an obvious physical product of karate, self-discipline is the mental basis for all karate training. More importantly, we believe self-discipline to be the most valuable education one may receive and the key to one's own potential. It is through self-discipline that one learns to set goals-not all at once, but one step at a time. It is also through self-discipline that we become positive, self-confident, and more fit to help others.
Through the centuries, karate has taught us the rewards of practicing good habits. From basic survival to higher achievement, these values of self-development are still applicable in all levels of today's society.
